About Danuta

Danuta currently works as a part-time personal trainer and as part-time class room assistance at St Mary’s PS, Cabragh. Danuta holds the qualifications of Level 2 fitness instructing, level three Personal training and Nutrition course. For nearly 25 years prior to taking up her post as a Personal trainer, she was a Gaelic footballer for the Oonagh Celts, and latterly Killeeshil Ladies GAA club. She represented her county at all grades. She won a number of accolades including: Player of Year at all levels including; under 14’s, Under 16’s, Minor and Senior. Danuta also holds a number of league and championship medals and an All-Ireland club medal. She also has been awarded the ‘top Scorer’ in GAA tournaments. She was also awarded ‘Sports Personality’ of the year in 2002 when attending North West Institute of Further and Higher Education, Derry. In 2014, Danuta was awarded the ‘club person’ of the year by Killeeshil GAA club. Danuta is also a former Marathon runner having successfully completed Dublin Marathon in 2015, and the New York Marathon in 2016. Danuta represented Ireland in the opening ceremony in the 2016 Marathon. Through her participation in sports she has raised thousands of pounds for local charities including Action Cancer and Clic Sergeant. She has organised a successful coffee morning in her local community centre, Killeeshil. Danuta also completed a number cycles for charity; including the Eagles Special Olympics and the Killeeshil cycle. Danuta also ran a four week ‘fit kids’ camp in her local community. She also ran fitness classes in her local primary school for 12 months. Danuta is deeply embedded and actively involved in her local community having held a range of positions within her local GAA club and Community Centre.
